The time we spend in college is one of the most important periods in our lives. It defines the people we meet, the interests we pursue, and the experiences we have for years to come. It’s daunting to think about, so most of us don’t while we’re here.
It’s important to realize that coming to Tulane grants us innumerable opportunities for self-exploration and growth. As I learned, however, involvement at Tulane doesn’t get you far on its own – engagement does. Engaging with our communities requires more energy and discipline but is far more rewarding. AKPsi taught me how to make the most of the time I spend at Tulane by showing me how to engage with my own communities on a new level.
This organization offers the chance to learn the basic skills required to pursue your passions professionally and surrounds you with a community of students dedicated to goals as lofty as yours. The brothers in AKPsi push each other to reach new heights and give the resources necessary to do great things. Our brotherhood and alumni networks offer incredible mentorship and advice.
I know for a fact that I wouldn’t have pursued some of my passions successfully without AKPsi’s help. The way the organization is structured offers social, emotional and academic support like no other student group on campus. I know there’s a lot more I want to do at Tulane and beyond, but I know I can rely on the brotherhood to help me with whatever comes next.
